Proactive Tax Planning for Business Owners, High-Income Professionals, and Real Estate Investors

Most returns are filed after every decision that could have changed the number has already passed. This call is about the decisions that are still open this year.

A short application comes first, then you pick a time. 30 minutes, virtual, no cost for the call.

PROBLEM

Does this sound like you?

If two or more of these sound familiar, the strategy call was built for you.

Any of these sound familiar?

  • You wrote a painful check in April, and your CPA called it a good problem to have.

  • You have read about cost segregation or the short-term rental rules, and your CPA dismissed them or never brought them up.

  • Your salary, your entity structure, and your retirement plan have not been revisited since the day they were set up.

  • Every strategy you hear about seems to have a deadline that already passed.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Who this is for, and where the savings usually sit

Three kinds of people, and often one person is all three. Below

them, the three areas where the larges opportunities usually appear.

The business owner

You run a profitable company, an S corp, agency, practice, or e-commerce brand. No one has pressure-tested your entity structure, your compensation, or your retirement plan options. Your CPA files the return and hands you a bill..

The high-income professional

You are a physician, engineer, tech executive, attorney, or sales leader whose income puts you in to top brackets. You have read about cost segregation or the short-term rental rules, and your CPA either dismissed them or never brought them up.

The real estate investor

You own rentals or you are researching your first. You need someone who understands material participation, entity structure, and cost segregation, and who can make it hold up if the IRS looks closely.

Entity and compensation

How the business is taxed and how the owner is paid affects payroll tax, the QBI deduction, retirement contribution limits, and audit exposure all at once.

Depreciation and real estate

Cost segregation, bonus depreciation, and participation status are timing decisions, and every one of them has to be made during the year, not at filing.

Retirement design and state elections

The right plan design and a state pass-through entity election are often the largest items on the list, and both have deadlines.

"I have a side business and rentals, and no one had ever built a strategy across all of it until Julius. He's the first CPA who looked at my whole picture instead of just filing returns."
Kenyatta M.

"His guidance gave me the confidence to move forward with the LTR strategy knowing it was the best fit for my goals. Highly recommend Julius for anyone needing expert real estate tax and strategy advice."

Christina B.

Real Estate Investor

"I do fix-and-flips in the Philadelphia area and my previous CPA had my Schedule C wrong for years. Julius caught it, amended my 2023 and 2024 returns, and prepared 2025. About $29K came back in my favor across the three years. He understands how flipping actually works on the tax side."

THE CALL

What Happens in the 30 minutes

We will

  • Walk your last return and your current year together

  • Identify the two or three biggest opportunities in your situation

  • Give you a directional range of what proactive planning is worth to you

  • Tell you what working together costs, or tell you honestly if there is nothing here

  • Not engage in generic tax Q&A

  • Not provide free return review with a sales pitch attached

  • Not require a commitment of any kind

  • Cover enough helpful information where you keep the notes either way

Before We Meet

A short prep form, about five minutes, and if you are comfortable, your most recent return uploaded securely. I read both before we talk. That is the difference between a call that describes strategies and a call that tells you which ones apply to you.

HOW IT WORKS

How Proactive Planning Works

Three steps. The third one is where the money is.

1. Diagnose

We start from your actual return and your actual year, not a checklist. Two or three numbers, adjusted for what you expect this year, tell us most of what we need to know.

2. Plan

We build the plan around decisions that still have a deadline in front of them: entity elections, compensation, retirement plan design, depreciation timing, state elections.

3. Execute Quarterly

Strategies only save money when they are implemented on time. Quarterly meetings, updated projections, and estimated payments keep the plan on schedule, and we prepare the return so nothing falls between the planner and the preparer.

FILED VS. PLANNED

ABOUT US

Julius Vincent, CPA, MBA

I spent 17 years in corporate accounting and finance before founding Horizon Wealth & Tax Advisors. I built the firm for one reason: I kept watching successful people pay more than they had to because nobody was planning during the year. Planning is the job. Filing is the receipt.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions people ask before booking.

Is there a cost for the call?

No. The strategy session is a working conversation to find out whether there is a strong reason to work together. If there is, I will tell you exactly what it costs on the call. If there is not, you leave with the notes.

Do I have to send my tax return?

No, and most people do because it makes the call far more specific. If you would rather not, the prep form has a short set of questions I can estimate from instead.

Can I keep my current CPA?

Yes. Some clients take the plan only and implement with their current preparer. Most find that having the same team plan and file removes the gaps where savings get lost, but that is your call, not mine.

Who is this call not right for?

If you have no business, no investment property, and household income under $250,000, proactive planning usually will not move the needle enough to justify the fee, and I will say so. You can still reach out about tax preparation.

How soon can we talk?

Usually within the week. The calendar shows the next two weeks. After you book you will get a text with the prep form and a short call from my office to confirm.
